Personal Bio

Business Education teacher

As a native of El Paso, Texas, I attended several elementary schools in El Paso ISD, graduating from Burges High School.  I attended Texas Western College (UTEP) receiving a B.S. Education in Secondary Education, and a Master of Business Education degree from West Texas A&M University (Canyon, Texas).

With 32 years as a high school teacher, my teaching career began in 1968 as a business teacher, and continued for the next 30 years at the same high school.  Instruction evolved from teaching typing (manual/electric typewriter) and bookkeeping into computerized accounting, microcomputer applications (keyboarding - word processing - spreadsheet - database), BASIC, COBOL, AP Computer Science, and HTML programming.

After retiring from Texas public schools in 1998, I continued teaching business subjects at both private and public high schools for the next two years.  Shortly afterwards, I worked with the Alternative Certification Program in the College of Education (UTEP) as a Secondary Consultant.

I am currently employed with El Paso ISD in El Paso, Texas serving as the Technical Site Coordinator for the Franklin High School attendance area, consisting of one high school, two middle schools, and six elementary schools.
